A Cátedra Educação, Cidadania e Diversidade Cultural é um programa de formação e extensão universitária que trabalha conteúdos educativos e culturais como um contributo de valor incontornável para a afirmação de políticas de desenvolvimento. Apresenta e promove programas de formação e procura soluções para a construção dum mundo com base em economias de bem-estar, em sociedade justas e inclusivas, com respeito pela sustentabilidade ambiental. Trabalha sobre as questões de: Igualdade de género, do Trabalho Digno; das cidades sustentáveis inclusivas e da Governação transparente; das parcerias no âmbito duma Educação para a Paz e para a cidadania global e promove possibilidade de criação de emprego no âmbito da economia criativa.

A sustentabilidade do projeto será assegurada por todos os envolvidos, com base no compromisso de centrar as ações em particular no campo da investigação científica nas pessoas com o objetivo de promover a dignidade humana proteger, os recursos naturais do planeta e salvaguardar os seus recursos para as gerações futura, na promoção de parceria para garantir a dignidade do trabalho e da criação de rendimentos e prosperidade para todos, e na promoção de ações de educação inclusivas, com base na diversidade cultural e na promoção da resolução pacífica de conflitos.

A investigação científica a desenvolver no âmbito da Cátedra tem por referência a Recomendação da Comissão das Comunidades Europeias de 11 de Março de 2005, relativa à Carta Europeia do Investigador e ao Código de Conduta para o Recrutamento de Investigadores.

Os investigadores afetos à Cátedra, seja na Universidade Lusófona, seja nas instituições parceiras deverão ter sempre como referência que a ligação às realidades locais permitirá que as ações a desenvolver se adequem às necessidades das comunidades locais, bem como ao desenvolvimento sustentável desses territórios.

The Education, Citizenship and Cultural Diversity’ Chair, is a university training and extension program that works on educational and cultural content as an unavoidable contribution to the affirmation of development policies. It presents and promotes training programs and seeks solutions for building a world based on well-being economies, on fair and inclusive societies, with respect for environmental sustainability. It works on the issues of: Gender equality, Decent Work; inclusive sustainable cities and transparent governance; of partnerships within the scope of an Education for Peace and for global citizenship and promotes the possibility of job creation within the scope of the creative economy.

The sustainability of the project will be ensured by all those involved, based on the commitment to focus actions, particularly in the field of scientific research, on people with the aim of promoting human dignity, protecting the planet’s natural resources and safeguarding its resources for the future generations, in the promotion of partnerships to guarantee the dignity of work and the creation of income and prosperity for all, and in the promotion of inclusive education actions, based on cultural diversity and the promotion of the peaceful resolution of conflicts.

The scientific research to be carried out within the scope of the Chair is based on the Recommendation of the Commission of the European Communities of 11 March 2005, concerning the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for Recruiting Researchers.

Researchers assigned to the Chair, whether at Universidade Lusófona or at partner institutions, should always have as a reference that the connection to local realities will allow the actions to be developed to suit the needs of local communities, as well as the sustainable development of these territories.
